So many people make this mistake when trying to tackle their Emetophobia, the fear of throwing up. They learn a ton of coping skills to handle the fear of throwing up and they make this assumptionā¦
If I deep breath, Iāll feel less nauseous
If I think this thought, Iāll feel less nauseous
If I do this coping mechanism, Iāll feel less nauseous.
And then people check. I did this, do I still feel sick? I did that, is the nausea gone yet?
Unfortunately the more you check, the more anxious you become and the more nauseous you feel. It becomes a vicious loop.
In this weekās YouTube video I talk about how to break this cycle and truly learn how to make Emetophobia (the fear of throw up) better.
