Experimenting with satin enamels again! This time, I chose to tint the satin enamel with some blue paint instead of using white and that small change really enhanced this painting and I love the result! I did use the same color pearls as the base and I think I will switch that up in my next one. It is unfortunate that I torched too long in that one place and had to modify the swipe because I loved it before I had to scrape that part. It is ok though! My next one will be in fire colors! Recipe:
Base coat and colors:
PM: 70/30% floetrol/gloss medium. 1 part paint to 3 parts pouring medium and water to thin
Satin enamel mixture (poured around the outside): 2-3 ounces artist loft flow acrylic white, 1 ounce satin enamel, 1 ounce gloss medium, 5 ounces US floetrol, 1-2 ounces of water. consistency should be slightly thick (1-2 second trace)
Swipe catalyst: 1 part paint (amsterdam titanium white) to 3 parts Australian floetrol
