Potpourri of items this week - pothole season is underway as the weather improves, but we're concerned that these small patches aren't addressing the issue. A Queens woman was arrested for allegedly throwing paint on the statue of Theodore Roosevelt in front of the Legislative building in Mineola. The Civic Association has a cleanup planned for Hall's Pond on April 6 and are looking for volunteers.
In other news, local teacher Van Kovics is recognized as Phys Ed teacher of the year, the Chestnut Street ballfield is still underwater, and Crossroads Farm is getting set to open for the season.
