Ever wondered why some times someone will play a G13#5b9 while in others they would play a regular plain old G7 or G9 chord? Well, wonder no further! In this lesson I will show you what I think is the right way to think about complex chords, tensions, altered tensions and all that jazz - literally. The idea is to think about scales and not chords. This simplifies things enormously and lets you group different "types" of chords together.
