Learn how to mix the COLOR OF LIGHT ✨ into MIDTONES for stunning paintings. We'll start with color theory on how the temperature of light affects colors, before honing in on midtones specifically. And then we'll dive deeper into processes for color mixing and managing your temperature shifts.
This is (hopefully) a better, more clear explanation on why the colors of midtones tend to be saturated in neutral light, while the midtones of warm objects are desaturated in cool light. (And the cool objects in warm light are desaturated also).
But deeper than that, this explains how to choose your midtones, shadows, base light, and highlights, from imagination -- without reference! Understanding these key ideas will help you master your colors to make more vibrant paintings.
