DDDN | Latest information about storms and low pressure that will land in the East Sea, with high waves and strong winds
On March 10, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that it forecasts no storms or low pressure to appear in the East Sea or near the Philippines in the 2 weeks from March 10 to 23. However, global forecast models have begun to point to the possibility of hurricane activity during the 2025 Northern Hemisphere hurricane season. The European Center for Medium-Term Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) forecasts that the Atlantic hurricane season will be average, with about 12 named storms, of which 5 strong storms. The forecast does not indicate a particularly intense hurricane season. In other oceans such as the Western and Eastern Pacific, hurricane season is also forecast to be normal or below average. Expert Philip Klotzbach explains that neutral ENSO factors (no strong El Nino or La Nina) will affect storm intensity. However, this forecast is still unstable due to climate factors and climate change that can change storm patterns. Official forecasts will be updated in the spring, before hurricane season officially begins on June 1.
