Thor vs Superman, as a non comic book reader I’m surprised to see that this debate somehow has not only gotten brought up to me. But after years of the MCU vs DCEU wave seemingly being dead, with Marvel pulling out all their stocks into Robert Downey Jr and DC doing the same with James Gunn, it’s time to bring back the most heated debate between these two universes, that being MCU Thor vs DCEU Supes. Not only do I think the comic book matchup of this is pretty obvious since DC in general is just generally accepted to be stronger than Marvel, but both live action versions of the character get wanked to ridiculous levels, so with me today I have Key Issues Garrick & Chad to help me give you guys the REAL answer on Supes vs Thor. To start off I think we should go over MCU Thor because.. he might be the most misinterpreted character in terms of power. Everyone and I mean eVERYONE after seeing that one scene in infinity war, swore up and down that this was the goat avenger… when he was barely cracking the Top 3. Before we talk about ANYTHING we have to mention Thors two biggest feats, that being him briefly taking the energy of a neutron star, and him being able to counter the energy of the infinity gauntlet. For one Thor did NOT tank the energy of a star, what happened was Thor took not even a fraction of the energy of a NEUTRON star so it's not even star level. And after 30 seconds of withstanding the energy he died, he only came back because of StormBreaker. There are claclulations based on the amount of energy he's taken though, which put him at around Large Island to maybe Country Level. This would be consistent as Thor can somewhat contend with Thanos, who is able to take multiple blasts from lightning, which would at least be as strong as the blast Thor used to cause a giant hole in Jotunheim during the beginning of Thor 1, with this feat being calc’d at 39.5 Teratons of TNT. Now some of you may be pointing to Thor's feat in Infinity War against Thanos, which i'm going to say right now, this means actually nothing. Not only is it stated that Stormbreaker specifically negates the energy of the gauntlet due to the material of the weapon. So Thor throwing this is pretty much like Luffy throwing a punch at Enels blast of lightning, he's not OVERPOWERING him, rather he's negating through the potency of the attack. And for 2 Thor was able to do this very easily because of Thanos being caught off guard and did this as a last desperate attempt. Thanos himself with the gauntlet IS definitely strong as we've seen the power stone being able to destroy the planet, but the problem is that we cant say this attack and this attack are the same potency, as that's not true. We also know this is true as Endgame Thor is stronger than ever after getting his confidence and Mjolnir back, which specifically magnifies his power. He still somehow can't take down Base Endgame Thanos and Captain America had to come and save him. We also see Thor and Iron Man doing COMBO moves and Thanos was just deflecting the attack. now that we've established Thor's strength we can now go over his speed which should be around probably Massively Hypersonic? I think it's a little weird as Thor's lightning can be reacted to by Thanos who I think is stronger than him, but we have seen feats of at least Current Thor being around this tier as Jane Fost can fly around the world two times in a short amount of time. After returning to life, his powers increase exponentially, seemingly empowered by the mother box. As we had seen previously, Superman, after regenerating to full strength, was similar in strength and speed to Wonder Woman. However, after being resurrected, his power increased astronomically. As I said, he was previously relative to Wonder Woman’s strength, but now he could CASUALLY hold off the combined strength of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Cyborg. So, using this feat - we know that Steppenwolf and Doomsday can both be able to output and endure forces up to or exceeding 25 Exatons - which is moon busting. At the very LEAST they would be multi-continental based on this. Wonder Woman and Aquaman can both endure strikes from Steppenwolf, so he shouldn’t be so much more powerful to the point of one-shotting them. Superman of course exceeds this by at least 3 times. Because Superman was doused in this energy, he would need to fly faster than light to escape this singularity and in the BvS guidebook it is stated that Superman’s travel and combat speeds are equal, meaning he can not only travel faster than light but react and fight at this speed as well. This is relevant because Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Cyborg all scale to this Superman and Steppenwolf is roughly equal to them in speed if not a little faster.
