TIG Welding F6/F4 – How to Excel and Pass the 6G Welding Test! Pipe welding is considered one of the more difficult processes for welders to master. Performing a TIG welding test on a 2" XX Heavy Wall pipe requires specific skills and knowledge. It is important to ensure that the TIG welding machine is set up correctly and that the tungsten electrode is sharpened properly. Additionally, the filler rod must be selected based on the composition of the base metal. Stick welding on heavy wall pipe requires a skilled welder with experience in welding on heavy wall pipe. The process requires a high amperage setting to penetrate the thick wall and requires the use of the correct electrode size and type. The performance of the stick weld test on a 2" XX Heavy Wall pipe is also typically evaluated based on factors such as the quality of the weld bead, the penetration into the base metal, and the overall strength and integrity of the weld. In both cases, the specific requirements for the weld will depend on the application and intended use of the pipe, as well as any applicable codes and standards that must be met. It is important to ensure that the weld meets all necessary requirements to ensure a strong, reliable weld. None of these videos are recorded in a fancy shop surrounded by sponsorship banners! My videos are recorded at working sites in various locations and welding positions. 90% of my welding projects in videos are x-rayed, and if you like to see hands-on projects, welcome!
