This is a step-by-step tutorial on how to paint a "Tiger's Eye" in oils on gesso hardboard. I wouldn't recommend this hardboard for the single hair technique, because of the texture of the surface leans toward straighter edges in almost every stroke. Forcing you to get a clean and smoother brush to soften the edges (extra work and time). Single strokes on Canvas texture are easily controlled by hand pressure. Straight edges give a cut-out effect whether you want it or not. The Leopard eye took 3 and half hours, this took 8 hours. It was only 1/3 larger than the 8 inches by 8 inches. (9" x 12")
Never-the-less it was Funn doing it!
Blessings always!
