This is kind of project makes me sad 😥 It's unfortunate for everyone involved. Its a lot of work for the contractor taking this on, and as the homeowner its really stressful to have a new shower leak or have issues like this 😬 I'm sorry if you are here because of the same reasons...
It's also very tough to find a contractor to take on something like this.
And sadly, there are a lot of shower builds being done poorly & the wrong way
This particular shower project was in a new home, built only 7 years ago 😳
It was the model home for the neighborhood & wasn't really used for the first 5 years. After only 2 years of continuous use, problems began to arise.
I was called in to evaluate, the client was concerned about leaking since the grout joints were cracked and water was coming up out of the joints when you walked on it
The core reason for the failure was the lack of pre-slope under the rubber liner
Its such a shame to tear out all of this new work 😩
