The Tinnitus Scrubber is high range masking noise to hopefully relieve ringing for some listeners. My ears ring on occasion from decades of loud music and machines despite my best efforts to wear ear plugs. So, I created this for my own relief. Perhaps it will be beneficial to others. The Soother is also popular at 5500 Hz https://youtu.be/yS03yADiZlg I'm not an audio therapist, rather an audio engineer, who finds relaxation and enjoyment with environmental and electronic noise--both in the process of listening and creation. It is recommended that tinnitus be assessed by a medical specialist. Concept: The Tinnitus Scrubber was made from a concept of breaking the ringing cycle by distracting the ear to a new sound in that same frequency range. Everybody's ringing is a unique frequency (or multiple frequencies). By sweeping the frequency range, it passes through the range of frequencies where the ringing typically may exist. Noise is used rather than tone because it is different type of sound than the typical ringing, at least in my ears. One current convention of tinnitus research is that the mind may 'auto-complete' the ringing well after the event which caused the ringing. The mind simplifies the sensory input of the senses to efficiently handle all the 'data' coming in from the world around us. So, it is plausible that the mind continues to hear the ringing that is not there anymore. By inserting a new sound (noise in this case), the cycle may be broken diverting the mind to a new sound in that frequency range. Maybe there will be a cure in the not so distant future. There is ongoing research in this field. I personally doubt there will be a pill to solve it soon, as it has to do with a complicated neural-relationship between the ear and brain that involves hundreds of thousands of neuro-pathways. The future of mitigation and living with tinnitus and a positive mind are covered in further videos.
