If you want an EFHW, but you cannot afford a kit, or a commercially available product, maybe consider building your own.
Why build your own kit?
1. Knowledge - Sourcing parts and building an End Fed Half Wave Antenna SHOULD get you the same knowledge as buying a kit, but also allows you to learn how to shop for deals (a good trait to have)
2. Cheaper - Building an EFHW from scratch WILL be cheaper than any commercially available kit
3. It's like burger king - Have it your way
4. Creative freedom

I do HIGHLY recommend building your own EFHW once in your life.
