*TIMING INDEX / SECTIONS BELOW SCROLL DOWN * Here's the Fold Processor from TipTop audio which is inspired by the middle section of the classic Serge Wave Multipliers. It's a great sounding folder with an inject control that adds voltage to adjust and manipulate the symmetry and wave shaping. You can sum two inputs and there's also a unique sub dividing circuit allowing for /1 /2 /4 /8 outputs that you can blend down to one output. The sub divided output is a train of pulse/square waves that adjust and morph depending on the fold and inject levels. Skip around the sections below, watch in full, enjoy and be sure to ask any questions. Cheers! :) http://tiptopaudio.com/fold-processor/ 00:00 Hello, welcome - patch previews of what's to come 01:03 What is it? What is a wave folder? Serge inspirations and features. 02:30 Sound demo - folding sine waves, looking at both fold depth and inject control. 04:12 Sub divided out sound demo, using fold and inject to manipulate the complex pulse waves the dividers create. Of course with the different sub octave generators too. 05:32 Modulation (mod to audio rates!) - using an LFO/VCO to modulate fold depth and also audio rate modulation of fold for some really gnarly complex tones that can still be tuned into some harmonious and musical. 06:29 Audio rate inject modulation - great overtones! 07:00 Bassline patch - using envelopes to fold depth and sample and hold / stepped random to inject to create a characterful chugging synth line. 10:01 Wavefolding drum beats - using the wave folder as a distortion effect for dynamic sources and also post processing the folder with filter and other modulation to create "fake synth layers" to blend with drum beats. 12:48 Wavefolding wavetables - looking at already complex moving wavetables and using the fold and inject to further modulate and process those waveforms. I also look at using the fold out and subdivided outputs down different signal paths to create a rich, wide moving sound. 16:18 Processing CV signals - LFOs - this starts by looking at using the inject control to create voltages and 'wobbles' without any input. Then processing LFOs, modulating the fold processor for every changing folded/shaped LFOs and more. 19:20 Processing CV signals - Envelopes! - I start looking at using envelopes into inject to excite the internal circuit and create a quirky "one-shot" style LFO/wobble/envelope. Using the envelope into the input gives a similar one shot excited wobble style shape but with a different response. 20:17 Kick drum synthesis - using the Fold Processor subtly add click, weight and punch that will cut through a mix. I also look at folding in harmonics for a richer low end and also using two inputs to add overtones to the sound which mixes well with the dry sound. 22:44 A quick patch to demonstrate create a stereo image with the fold processor and independent left and right signal paths beyond the main and subdivided outputs. 24:55 An abstract/experimental approach to generating textures from a single triangle LFO. Here I try to sub divide an LFO which creates little spikes in the output that I've used to ping filters, move a sequencer and create a generative-style patch. #TiptopAudio #FoldProcessor Subscribe for more DivKid videos: http://bit.ly/DivKidYTSub Be awesome!
