Sign up for our newsletter at: → https://www.beekeepingmadesimple.com/newsletter ►► _______________________________________ Top 10 Mistakes I Made Starting My Honey Business: 1) Sold retail instead of wholesale. 2) Didn't sell at markets or festivals. 3) Made a Wordpress website instead of a Shopify site. 4) Used paper labels. 5) Used mason jars. 6) Didn't ask friends and family for help. 7) Sold honey by the individual jar instead of 3 packs or gift sets. 8) Didn't have big sales (Flash Sales or 30% off) 9) Didn't have an email newsletter to start. 10) Spent more time perfecting my product & label & less time marketing Watch the video to hear why these things hurt my business instead of helping it and what to do instead. Other tips: • Give people a good story - about your product, how you got into beekeeping, or about the bees • Give it away for free at first. • Keep it simple. Don't overly complicate your product, website, marketing, or anything! • Make sure what you're doing is legal! Check your areas' food laws to see what needs to be on your label, what certification you need, and if you need a certified kitchen. You may be able to sell direct to customer, but not to retail stores, online or out of state without a certified kitchen or other requirements. #businessofbeekeeping #sellyourhoney
