Neon Genesis Evangelion is way too symbolical and confusing for the most part. It is hard to have concrete answers for most things. A lot of stuff is vaguely implied, but never confirmed. To understand the show, one must be an Olympic Gold Medalist in jumping to conclusions and a person who has been so allergic to touching grass that they have become absolute pros at reaching. But excessive fan theorization can often work out for the best because if you can continuously put two and two together, you can end up finding theories that, for the most part, cannot be debunked. To top that off, the fanbase keeps themselves entertained by often re-reading between the lines and spotting new, interesting things.
