In Magic the Gathering each card has a card type, be it land, creature, planeswalker, or so on. Sometimes a card will also have a subtype to help denote some flavor or mechanical function. While some subtypes like equipments and auras are mainstays in the game, other subtypes are far more obscure in their application.
