For this Top Tip Tuesday, we dive into using xpOcean in Deformer mode to generate looping wave animations directly on scene geometry.
xpOcean is typically used for realistic animated ocean surfaces—but here, we take it a step further. We start by crafting some satisfying ocean waves and fine-tuning the settings to create a seamless loop. Then, we bring it all together using a Boolean object to combine the animated surface with our scene geometry—in this case, a bold letter X.
Whether you’re animating text, logos, or 3D models, this technique is perfect for adding fluid, organic motion to your motion graphics and VFX projects!
