In this Tuesday’s Top Tip, we explore how to set up particles for a granular simulation without ending up with a rigid grid of particles.
Using Hexagonal Shot mode, we generate particles within an object's volume, creating a stable starting point for the simulation. To break up the repeating patterns, we apply jitter controls, adding natural variation to the particle distribution. Finally, we use the nxPush modifier to relax the jittering and ensure there are no intersecting particles, preventing instability in the simulation.
By following this workflow, you’ll achieve a more realistic, visually appealing granular effect with a clean and reliable setup.
