Currently, the combined ticket to the Topkapi palace complex, the Harem and the Church of Saint Irene costs 1,500 Turkish liras, approximately €40. The complex is open every day except Tuesdays, and although the visit usually lasts about three hours, it can easily be extended to half a day if you want to explore it slowly.
Tickets cannot be purchased online, but must be purchased at the ticket office located in the First Courtyard, just after entering through the Imperial Gate, next to the Church of Saint Irene. However, admission is included in the Museum Pass Turkey and the Museum Pass Istanbul, which can be a convenient option if you plan to visit more museums. Children under 6 years old do not pay admission.
It is recommended to visit the Topkapi complex in the afternoon, when there are fewer tourists, allowing you to enjoy the tour more calmly.
To visit the Sacred Halls, it is necessary to dress appropriately: both men and women must cover their shoulders and knees, and in the case of women, it is mandatory to wear a scarf to cover their hair. With these tips in mind, touring the Topkapi Palace becomes an unforgettable experience, a trip back in time to the grandeur of the Ottoman court.
