The overhaul of Tornado's boiler turned out to be a lot more challenging that anticipated. Hard work on the part of the staff at Darlington Locomotive Works and from Northern Steam has ensured that it recently passed both hydraulic and steam tests and can now be returned to the locomotive's frames.
