Torque, Basic Introduction, Lever Arm, Moment of Force, Simple Machines & Mechanical Advantage

This physics video tutorial provides a basic introduction into torque which is also known as moment of force. Torque is the product of force and lever arm also known as moment arm. The lever arm is the perpendicular distance between the axis of rotation and the line of action of the force. Torque is the rotational equivalent of force. Positive torque values produce counterclockwise rotation and negative torques produce clockwise rotation. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems of torques as it relates to doors, seesaws, and shovels.
