Cheating in sprint car racing is a highly debated topic.
Tire doping, oversized engines, chassis tube thicknesses, fuel additives and more are all ways that teams may look for an illegal advantage.
But probably the most interesting and inconclusive area is the use of traction control.
At the season opening event at the Perth Motorplex, the Sprintcar Control Council of Australia (SCCA) randomly selected 4 cars to run a traction control detection device that they have been developing.
And it didn’t quite go to plan...
