Ramadan in Iran is not just a religious ritual; it is a cultural tradition. For Iranians, Ramadan means the atmosphere of gathering around the Iftar table,👩‍👩‍👧‍👦 listening to the Rabanna prayer,🎵 and the excitement and anticipation of hearing the call to prayer.😊
I also tried to create that atmosphere in my own way. Together with my guests, I set up an Iftar table featuring a traditional Iranian Iftar.
---------------------------------------
🍽 My Iftar menu includes:

🔸Haleem:
is a rich, slow-cooked porridge made with wheat, meat, and spices, topped with cinnamon, sugar, and butter.
🔸Zoolbia and Bamieh:
are traditional Iranian deep-fried sweets soaked in saffron and rosewater syrup, making them the most popular Ramadan dessert in Iran.

🔸Zereshk Polo with Chicken:
is a classic Persian dish consisting of fluffy saffron-infused rice mixed with tangy barberries (zereshk) and served with tender, spiced chicken.
🔸Sholeh Zard:
is a traditional Persian saffron rice pudding made with rice, sugar, saffron, rosewater, and cardamom, garnished with cinnamon and slivered nuts.

🔸Shirazi Salad:
is a traditional Persian salad made with finely chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions, dressed with lemon juice or verjuice, and seasoned with salt and dried mint.

All of these are traditional Iranian dishes that are commonly found on Iftar tables during Ramadan.
