7/28/16 - A heavy 38G rounds the bend at Monocacy near Milepost 47 on the lower Harrisburg Line. UP 6297 is one of the last Southern Pacific AC4400CW's to be freshly repainted into Union Pacific livery and numbers. In fact, the tag on the locomotive still read "SP 335" on the scanners; however, the locomotive was literally painted a couple weeks prior to seeing this train.

7/29/16 - Westbound Reading & Northern coal loads are under-powered for their uphill journey out of Reading, seen here about to crest a small hill at Newmanstown. This coal train is comprised of cars of anthracite from Northeast Pennsylvania, interchanged to NS at Reading, bound for Baltimore for export to Quebec Iron and Titanium in northeastern Canada.

That evening, loaded coal train 504 crosses 2-1 at Prescott with three EMD 710's under load pulling the heavy train out of Lebanon City limits. The coal in 504 is used for the cement plants in the Lehigh Valley, utilizing the Cement Secondary to reach the yard in Tadmore. This is one of the last remaining stretches of the forgotten Lehigh & New England railroad, which is otherwise used by the cement local: H74. This move is rare and sporadic at best, as the coal is used as needed via transload services, unlike a quick unload at power plant.

8/07/16 - In a most unusual circumstance, an SD45-2 leading a road train is incredibly rare. NS 1703 and a couple of other EMD's in dynamics hold back a heavy 10N rolling down the grade at Robesonia toward Reading Yard. Notice the loud cab-mounted Leslie S3L horn, a signature of the Erie Lackawanna heritage.
