Transformers Robots in Disguise gave us new versions of Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus following the Beast Wars (and the series that came after that, which shall not be named). Hasbro brought over the Car Robots Fire Convoy and God Magnus as well as the rest of the line (except Brave Maximus) for their U.S. customers. Now we have a special Haslab set of RiD Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus as a brand-new update. Captain Kyle reviews it thoroughly to see if it might merge with your collection.
Optimus Prime, as holder of the Matrix and leader of the Autobots, didn’t get along with his brother, Ultra Magnus. While they shared a dislike of the Predacons and Decepticons (or Anti-Cybertrons), they didn’t see eye to eye on who should lead. But when they discovered they could merge into Omega Prime, the best of both of them came to the fore. This Haslab special edition celebrates their special combination. Captain Kyle examines it in this video and even compares it to the original toys.
There is a flaw in the construction of Optimus Prime in this set. To fix it, you do have to disassemble it and modify some pieces. Please see this post for more info:
