What art supplies should you bring on a trip? You want to keep your sketch gear compact and lightweight, but also bring everything you need!

As I prepare for the trip, I am refining my own sketch kit, and I will share my best tips with you.
What’s in My Travel Sketch Kit?
- A5 sketchbook, big enough for bold sketches and small enough to carry. Hardbound, so it's easy to hold in my lap when drawing.

- Tiny sketchbook for light travel days
- Shown in video: no brand
- Waterproof and watersoluble pens
- Sailor fude fountain pens with 55 degree calligraphy nib angle
- Pentel Pocket Brushpen
- Watersoluble pencil
- Derwent Inktense, black
- Ink and brushpen refills
- Platinum Carbon black ink
- Sailor watersoluble black ink cartridges
- Pentel watrproof black ink cartridges
- Zip-locks in case of leakage
- Watercolors and water brushes
- Daniel Smith paint, Aquash waterbrush pens, broad brush
- Colored pencils and crayons for texture in a Pencil roll (36 slots)
- Caran d'Ache Luminance colored pencils
- Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils
- Caran d'Ache Neocolor I wax crayons (water resistant)
- Caran d'Ache Neocolor II crayons (water soluble)

Pro Tip:
Do not pack “just in case” supplies because you will not use them. Keep it simple with materials you love, and if you really need something… well, that is a great excuse to visit a local art supply shop!
