Churdhar, also known as Chur Chandni Dhar or "Mountain of the Silver Bangles," is the highest peak in the outer Himalayas, standing at an impressive elevation of 3,647 meters (11,965 feet). Nestled in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, Churdhar offers breathtaking views, pristine natural beauty, and a spiritual aura, making it a popular destination for trekking enthusiasts, pilgrims, and nature lovers.

And we started this trek from Noradhar which is a beautiful town located in the sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh. To reach here you can easily come through a car or a bus, and from shimla it's at a distance of approximately 100kms and from Chandigarh it's at a distance of 130 kms. You can experience the rich himachali culture in this village and the people here are very kind and helpful. And for stay and rest there are many homestay available.

So once you started your journey from Noradhar it will be a steep climb for upto 2 kms. After that you will be entered through a gate which shows that churdhar is not only a trek or pilgrimage place but also a wildlife sanctuary where many animals, birds reside. And that's why it's also a bit risky if you are a solo traveller. But once you entered the forest you will be amazed by the beauty and how calm is this place. While hiking you can literally hear the leaves rushing birds chirping and after trekking 6 kms from Noradhar you will reach the first basecamp of this trek i.e. Jamnala where you can rest eat or sleep if you want to. On first day, we reached in Jamnala at 6pm so we pitched our tent and stayed for the night under the beautiful night sky.
You can camp here if you want to.

Next morning we started our journey again from jamnala and at this day we want to reach to churdhar which is 12kms from jamnala so we started hiking early. From jamnala you will be going through dense forest till teesri the next base camp of this trek where you can rest or eat, we also took some rest and made poha for some energy than after resting a bit we again started our journey. From tessri you will be hike through meadows and till churdhar you will be encountered with amazing views sunset and from jamnala we had one more member with us which was this gaddi dog and he followed us till churdhar.
After you reach churdhar you will feel blessed and you will feel like all your fatigue is vanished. That was the end of our day 2.

Churdhar holds immense religious importance. At the summit lies the revered shrine of Lord Shiva, locally known as the Chureshwar Mahadev Temple. The temple is an important pilgrimage site, especially during the summer months when devotees flock to seek blessings. And thus we also seek blessings of Shirgul Maharaj and Lord shiva whose mighty statue is located on the top of the mountain. And from there you can see the mighty himalayas all around if weather is all clear. From up there the views are just magnificent.
But our journey was not finished yet beacuse the Shant Mahayagya was going to happen here after 52 years which is a grand celebration when a temple is build completely.

After 52 years, Shant Mahayagya took place in Shirgul Mahadev Temple on churdhar peak. 20 to 30,000 devotees participated in it. Kurud was installed on the top of the roof and with this, the construction of the churdhar temple was concluded.
