I CAN EXPLAIN
i realize this is just a HUGE deviation from my regular videos but most of you probably don't follow me on twitter, and so probably don't know that i am unfortunately not only a dream smp enjoyer, vocaloid enjoyer, friday night funkin enjoyer, but also a south park enjoyer yes i know its tragic.
i was SO CLOSE to making a triple trouble cover w dsmp characters like normal but just nothing i could come up with HIT yk what i mean?? like the best idea i had was "but it's DreamXD and his pawns" but idk i wasnt feeling it
at which point i came across this tweet, which hit me like a TRUCK and suddenly i was youtube to mp3-ing and audacity-ing and ibis painting like an absolute mentally ill person instead of studying for my finals. anyway what i'm trying to say is you'll probably see a south park cover once in a blue moon so dont crucify me LMAO
i hope you enjoy this cover though, even if you've never seen south park!!

ok now i'm gonna talk about boring production stuff for a little bit bc idk someone out there might find it interesting and i like talking about it ok theres a reason why this is after the credits
here is where i sampled each voicebank from:
- butters was sampled from clips of him singing his apples song and "if you leave me now" from the casa bonita episode, his laughing (in order) is from the first professor chaos episode, good times w weapons, reverse cowgirl
- this mf kyle has never sang in his life (thats a lie) so i sampled from his speaking in the ginger cow episode
- cartman's bank is astonishingly high quality, and it's purely bc i found this super clear acapella of his poker face cover
- stan was sampled from both his speaking and bad singing from elementary school musical
- kenny was sampled from an acapella i found of the mid-series theme song, which was great bc he's pretty shouty in that so there's no weird distortion from utau i'd probably have gotten if i used quieter samples. his laughing is from the brown note episode (specifically the clip where eric makes a joke ab kyle fingering his mom lmao)
the actual making of this video as a whole was a lot more straightforward than i expected tbh, bc the song has quite long turns there wasn't a lot of complicated keyframing (unlike fucking BALLISTIC), and mixing the cover was actually really fun!! one of my favorite parts is the back and forth that happens in the latter half of the first phase
even the jinriki troubleshooting was nonexistent, which i think is all thanks to professional animation studio quality audio and 0 background noise. even so, my main concern was making sure that specifically kyle and butters sounded distinct from each other (also stan and cartman to an extent) for obvious reasons, but since i sampled butters from mid-series seasons his "accent" shines through a lot. and eric sings really REALLY in character for poker face, so everything turned out great!!
