Trying to make sense of the JOJO RPG for the SNES

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Going through the story of the very first JoJo game for the Super Famicom (The Japanese SNES equivalent), and attempting to make some sense of its strange mechanics. A Turn Based jRPG that attempts to cover the story of Part 3 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (Stardust Crusaders). While the SNES era can be considered a golden age for the jRPG genre with many fantastic titles that greatly expanded the turn based mechanics and solidified many of its tropes, Jojo's first step into the world of videos certainly wasn't a spectacular one, but while doing little justice to its source material, it does try to provide a new experience and experiments with mechanics in an interesting albeit unclear way. While ambitions may have been a little too high for this game, it's ideas would inspire fans to make their own RPG game... and we always have the Capcom fighter. Also, watching all of Part 3 of Jojo's anime would take you longer than it takes to beat this game. While I generally like to use soundtrack from the games I'm covering in these videos as background music, here the soundtrack was so small and besides a few decent songs, I wasn't huge fan of, meaning a lot of the songs here are from different games. ------------------------------------------------------ 0:00 Intro 1:32 Japan (& Mechanics) 18:03 India 22:20 Pakistan 26:45 Egypt 32:23 Cairo 38:13 Outro ------------------------------------------------------ Scans of the Strategy Guide https://jojowiki.com/Super_Famicom_Secrets_Complete_Book GameFAQs Guide: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/snes/563053-jojo-no-kimyou-na-bouken/faqs/36853
