Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In this video Dave fine tunes an imported handpan (Made in China?) with top and bottom notes. Don’t try to tune your handpan by yourself. Contact an experienced tuner.

Many people like the idea of having top and bottom notes but the two scales need to co-exist without causing dissonance. Essentially, bottom notes aren’t necessarily good if it makes the notes on the top shell sound worse. Tuners need to be careful with note placement, too. Placing two similar notes near each other or having 1/2 step intervals nearby can cause dissonance. Some people may not notice the dissonance, but others may not like it at all.
