Video Not Working? Fix It Now

00:00 Intro One question that I kept being asked was how to turn an idea into a story. It is so specific to the idea, writer and director that it is impossible to give out generic steps to follow. But I know it can be useful when starting. So I left my mind to come up with a solution. 01:03 Gaming There was this game that I loved to play as a child, called SimCity. A couple of months back I felt like playing it again. I had not been on set for over a year. I missed creatively solving challenges. 02:16 The Game I Once Loved Playing Then I came across a better city building game, Cities: Skylines on Steam (I did not even know what Steam was). It takes a while to get the hang of all the controls and the gameplay. So I searched for gameplay videos on YouTube. 03:16 Watching Gameplay Videos I came across a channel that had built a well planned and beautifully working gigantic city. They had videos documenting things from the very beginning, the decisions, the whys, the implementation, over many months and years. 04:24 A Gameplay of Art Creation Why did JK Rowling give Harry round spectacles and not square? What was James Cameron thinking when he first saw the Titanic at the bottom of the ocean? Whatever it was, it earned him the Oscars. 07:07 Gameplay of Turning an Idea into a Story And there was my solution! A series of turning an idea into a story and then a film. As I am currently writing my next story, why not document the journey, like how the gamer did? 08:41 Challenges in Documenting What if the film becomes a massive success? What if it doesn't or if it takes 10 years or never ends up on screen because I decide the story isn't working? These are exactly the fears and risks of every writer that I hope to capture for you! In sharing my story in this documentation journey what if someone steals my story? Again! Another fear of every artist. When I calmly sit down and think about it, the possibility of that happening is very less, because it is not the idea that matters, but the execution. Many have had the idea of starting a burger joint. But it was the execution of McDonalds that made it a massive success. 09:38 What I Gain by Documenting My Journey - help you in your journey - satisfaction of sharing what I am learning - consciously documenting every step so that I can not only turn my ideas into films, but do it for others as well - build an audience for the film on screen - fans of the film can binge watch how the film came about in the two years (that would be an interesting playlist) 11:56 Language I Will be Using Though I write in English, the final film and the videos will be in Malayalam (my mother tongue). If you are a Malayali who is not comfortable with English, writing parts might be difficult. If you are not a Malayali, then the videos and films will be difficult. 12:17 Expected Timeline - 2022 November: Release film - 2022 January: Start working on film - 2021 December: Publish story 14:23 Join Me in This Long Journey As you can see it is not going to be this a short one.
