In this video (1 of 2), I talk about the DC analysis of a common-emitter transistor amplifier. In particular, the voltage divider bias setup and equations.
I give formulas for I_B (DC base current), I_C (DC collector current) and V_CE (voltage from collector to emitter).
Given I_C (quiescent current), beta (aka h_FE), and V_CC (source voltage), I show how to compute R_C (collector resistance), R_E (emitter resistance), R_1 and R_2 (voltage divider bias resistors).
