This is a tutorial that shows you how to create true afterthought heels. This follows on from part 1, where I show you how I split a tube into 2 pairs of socks. Length of the leg of the sock will vary according to your foot length. Position of heel = length of foot - 2 inches Decrease instructions: Round 1: K1, SSK, K 24, K2Tog, K1, Place marker, K1, SSK, K 24, K2Tog, K1 Round 2: Knit Round 3: K1, SSK, K to 3 stitches before marker, K2Tog, K1, Slip marker, K1, SSK, K to 3 stitches before marker, K2Tog, K1 Repeat last two rows until you have 24 stitches in total Use kitchener stitch to bind off.
