Dr. Troy Stapleton is a radiologist from the University of Queensland Medical School. He uses the low carbohydrate diet to keep his blood sugars under control. Dr. Stapleton is an advocate of the low carb diet for type 1 diabetics, and has appeared in several public talks discussing the attainment of normal glycemia for type 1 diabetics. Nayiri Mississian, the host of Low Carb and Fasting, is a nutrition researcher, coach and blogger. Nayiri has had type1 diabetes since 1978, intermittent fasting since 2000, eating low carb since 2015, strength training since 2018, extended fasting since 2021 and ketovore/carnivore since 2022 (after 30 years of vegetarianism). Nayiri is also the founding director of a translation company, which she runs alongside her research work and⁷ coaching.
