ULTIMATE Aussie Adventure Boat? – Start to Finish Build!
We set out to build what might just be the ultimate Aussie all-rounder — a custom-built alloy rig tough enough for Cape York and remote missions, yet compact enough to run up creeks and pull a few muddies. After years of refining what we really needed in a boat, we teamed up with JB Plate Boats to make it happen.
Built in just six weeks (yep, including the Christmas break), this is a seriously capable rig designed for off-road travel, solo launching, inshore reef missions, and creek crawling. If you’re after a true go-anywhere, do-it-all adventure boat — this one might be it.
🔷 Key Build Features:
• Off-road trailer with extended drawbar for easier beach and creek launching
• 12,000lb electric winch for tough solo retrievals
• Drop-down spare wheel for sandy bogs and hard-to-access retrieval spots
• 24V power system running a Minn Kota & 36L fridge
• Yamaha F90hp tiller steer outboard supplied & fitted by Marineland Bundaberg
• Raymarine Axiom Pro 2 RVM for navigation and fishfinding
• All 4mm plate aluminium construction
• 120L underfloor fuel tank + capacity to carry another 120L on the trailer
• 50L fresh water tank — also underfloor
• Premium U-Dek flooring by Ultralon Australia, fitted by JB Plate Boats
• Custom layout, smart storage, and a few personal mods that make this rig uniquely ours
