Take the hammer or with the help of your hard shoes check the surface below Landing Gear from both sides. My ground is hard and level from both sides My Surface is hard and safe. Lower down the landing gear with the help of the rod attached, rotate the rod clockwise, till the landing gear touches the ground from any of the sides and confirm that the landing gear is touching the ground. Now remove the Supply lines (Red Glad hand, Blue Glad Hand and Electrical Supply line) from the trailer and secure them with the rubber belt mounted on the tractor rear. Say my lines are secure. With the help of the steel rod release the lever from the fifth wheel to unlock the jaws of the fifth wheel. My lever is out, my pin is out. Check by going down the trailer, the jaws are unlocked. Sit in the truck, release the yellow brake and move the tractor a bit forward, just to remove the kingpin from the fifth wheel. Come out from the tractor, my truck is not touching the trailer, check and inform that the landing gear is taking the load of the trailer properly. Move the tractor further away from the trailer just to show that the truck is detached from the trailer. Move as instructed by the examiner. Turn on the four way flasher. Explain about your supply lines. My both glad hands are good, there is no crack, no damage, no broken, the rubbers are good, no cut, no dust, no rust. Check from 3 sides of the tractor, from the left side My fifth wheel looks good, no crack, no damage, no broken and all attaching parts are present. it's securely mounted on the tractor body with help of the fasteners, all fasteners are present, no loose, no missing, all are present tight and secure. My lever is good, no crack, no damage, no broken, no bend. From the middle, jaws are open, My four way flashers are on. From the right side My fifth wheel looks good, greased properly, no crack, no damage, no broken and it's securely mounted on the tractor body with help of the fasteners, all fasteners are present, no loose, no missing, all are present tight and secure. Point out your way and say my way is clear. Sit in the truck, honk the city horn and start reversing your truck and level it with you tractor tires and the trailer. Align the kingpin with the trailer but do not completely attach the trailer to the tractor. Keep the kingpin out. Come out of the trailer, check the height of the tractor/trailer, say my trailer and fifth wheel height is good. Check the supply lines connectors. My both Red and Blue supply lines are good, no crack, no damage, no broken, the rubbers are good, no cut, no dust, no rust. My Electrical line is good, no crack, no rust, no dust, all 7 pins are present, no damage, no missing, no rust, no dust. They securely connected to the trailer body. Get down the trailer, check the kingpin is properly greased. The kingpin is properly mounted from the upper plate/apron plate and the upper plate/apron plate looks good no crack, no damage, king pin no crack no damage, no bend is properly greased. The kingpin is aligned straight with the jaws on the fifth wheel. Reverse the truck and let the fifth wheel connect with the kingpin. It jerks and there is a loud sound. Do the tug test by moving forward with only a jerk not completely forward and repeat it. Tug test is for two times only and show your hand outside the window and count 1 and 2. Come out of the truck, check the and confirm. The lever is in and locked. There is no gap between the upper plate and the fifth wheel. Jaws are locked and the kingpin is secured. Connect the supply lines with the trailer. Connect the electrical line and confirm the trailer flashers are on. Connect the Red and Blue Glad hands. Raise the landing gear rotating anti clockwise with the handle attached. Come in the truck, press the Red button for brake only. Bring the pressure to 100 PSI. Turn off the four way flasher. Turn the ignition off at 100 PSI. Turn on the ignition but do not start the truck. Try to listen any audible air leak from outside. No audible air leakage outside and my pressure is at 100 PSI. It means my supply lines are connected properly. Apply pressure on the service brake, keep the pedal firm and constant. Try to hear any air leakage and say there is no audible air leakage once and thrice. My gauges are stable at 98 PSI, and my supply lines are connected properly. Pull the Red brake.
