In September 2022, three female lion cubs were born at Asahiyama Zoo, the northernmost zoo in Japan. They were named Fu, Rei, and Ito. Their father was Orito and their mother was Io, both of whom were born at warm zoos in Japan before moving to Asahiyama Zoo, where they became a couple. At Asahiyama, the family lived together in an open pride exhibit, and the three daughters grew up surrounded by the love of their parents.
However, the happiness of being together as a family couldn't last forever. In November 2023, when the cubs turned one year old, Ito moved to Maruyama Zoo. Then, in November 2024, Fu was transferred to Kushiro City Zoo. Currently, the parents and their daughter Rei are living together at Asahiyama Zoo, and this channel has captured their story.
