I know that learning the fretboard can seem difficult. But if you just memorize these 2 patterns, you can play anywhere on the fretboard in any Key. This is a simple variation of the CAGED system. However, this is an easier way to get you playing around the entire fretboard today. Also, these patterns also let you play in both the major and the minor scales, as well as major and minor pentatonic scales. Almost any solo or lick you could ever play is in one of these 3 patterns.
