This is a Motormouth couple car review of the updated 2024 Cadillac XT4 subcompact luxury SUV. We picked up the 2024 Cadillac XT4 in Deer Lake Newfoundland and headed to Norris Point which is another beautiful area in Newfoundland. This is our last stop before we head home to Vancouver.
What’s New? The XT4 gets a fresh new design with an updated exterior and interior plus new technology. Some exterior styling tweaks include a new grille, LED headlamps, new wheel designs and an updated rear. The interior is more modern and upscale with a 33” diagonal LED display with google built-in and Amazon Alexa capability. There’s also an available 14-speaker AKG sound system.
The 2024 Cadillac XT4 is powered by a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 9-speed automatic transmission, 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. In Canada, standard AWD. In the US, FWD and AWD options are available. We have done a lot of highway driving and the passing power is very good and it does a pretty good job eating up the imperfections in Newfoundland roads.
2024 Cadillac XT4 standard features include, the large 33” display, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a 7-speaker audio system, heated front seats, power front seats with lumbar support, leatherette upholstery, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, a power liftgate and Cadillac smart system technology.
2024 Cadillac XT4 fuel economy for the AWD model is 10.4L/100 km, 23 MPG city and 8.4L/100 km, 28 MPG highway. We actually got better results, 7.4L/100 km, 31.7 MPG combined.
In Canada, the 2024 Cadillac XT4 Luxury trim starts at $44,833 CAD (FWD), $48,233 CAD (AWD), Premium Luxury $52,033 CAD and Sport $52,033 CAD. This is MSRP.
In the US, the 2024 Cadillac XT4 starts at $37,895 USD, Premium Luxury $41,495 USD and Sport $41,995 USD. $2,500 extra for AWD.
All models can tow 2000 pounds. Luxury and Premium Luxury models with the trailering package can tow 2,750 pounds. If you replace the grille with the Sport accessory grille, these models can tow 3500 pounds. The Sport trim can tow 3500 pounds.
We wraped up our fabulous trip to Newfoundland with the 2024 Cadillac XT4 in Norris Point at Neddies Harbour Inn.
The Cadillac XT4 has been a great SUV to drive along the twisty highway in Gros Morne National Park where the views are spectacular. On the highway we averaged great fuel economy at speeds between 80-90 kmh. 7.4L/100 km, almost 32 MPG. That’s better than the EPA highway numbers of 8.4L/100 km, 28 MPG highway.
The 2024 Cadillac XT4 Premium Luxury model we are driving is a great blend of performance and comfort. If you want something sportier go for the Sport model with the sport tuned suspension, it is a little more engaging to drive.
