岩泉町中心部の「うれいら通り商店街」は、岩泉町のシンボル、龍泉洞を抱く「宇霊羅山（うれいらさん）」が商店街の名前の由来です。
古くは三陸沿岸から城下町盛岡を結ぶ、小本街道の宿場町として栄えた岩泉町。時代が下がり明治になると、養蚕や酪農なども盛んになりました。その古き良き時代の面影を残す街並みが、うれいら通り商店街です。
龍泉洞から車で９分です。
