US stocks are on the slide again, with the S&P 500 dropping more than 4 per cent overnight as investor anxiety grows over US President Donald Trump's escalating trade war with China. The White House clarified the total tariffs on Chinese goods now stand at 145 per cent, following a 125 per cent hike added to a pre-existing 20 per cent tariff. US President Trump insists a deal between the world’s two largest economies is still possible.
