Ilan Ronen was the Artistic Director of the theatre in the years 2005-2016, after running two other theaters – the Chan Theatre in Jerusalem and the Cameri theatre of Tel Aviv. During the last decade Ilan has put a lot of attention to expand on the international activity of Habima. One of Habima’s most important tours was of a performance of Ilan Ronen’s version of »The Merchant of Venice« in London’s Globe Theatre during in the 2012 International Shakespeare Festival.
