Ren Cher is a talented composer. He won 16 sole winner/1st prizes in the youth category of many composition competitions in Canada, USA, France, Italy, Israel, Romania & Serbia from 2020 to 2022Jul, & another 12 2nd prizes in Austria, Germany, USA, etc. He also won 5 3rd prizes in the Open Category (no age limit) in various countries.
One of his 1st prizes included a USD40K scholarship for a 4-year degree course in composition in a California University. Two of his 1st prizes included live performances of his winning works in Texas.
He is also a talented violinist & yangqin(dulcimer) player. He won multiple 1st prize awards in solo competitions, including a Gold Award for violin solo at the 7th Performers’ Festival & Chamber Music Competition 2018, Singapore. He is also a very experienced concert violinist & yangqin player, having performed over 60 performances in major concert halls internationally & locally for over 10 years.
