Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra has made its home in Berlin since 2006, and has performed well over 200 concerts in 20 countries on four continents. It focuses on presenting compositions of its founder Daniel Glatzel which both defy and extend musical boundaries. It draws on a colorful panorama of jazz, avantgarde, independent and world music “but sounds like it belongs in a new sub-genre all of its own" (Jazzwise). Its last program was set for performance at legendary club Berghain. AMEO has also collaborated with Hermeto Pascoal, Anthony Braxton, traditional musicians from Malawi, Sinfonietta Riga, The Notwist, Efterklang among others and was the first ever winner of the German Jazz Prize for large ensemble.
