I'm an electrical and mechanical engineer who ended up teaching salespeople how to tell stories !? ;--(
I published 'Seven Stories Every Salesperson Must Tell' in 2018.
My intellectual interests are, in no particular order
- the neuroscience of storytelling - specifically stories in the neocortex (stories wire up the neocortex - they are the instruction set)
- the neuroscience of intelligence and creativity (neocortex), AGI
- beliefs and disbeliefs (neocortex again)
- problem-solving (neocortex and engineering)
Some of my key intellectual influences are Jeff Hawkins, David Deutsch, Karl Popper and Daniel Kahneman.
Currently I'm an evo-critical rationalist. There's two knowledge-makers playing in our skulls.
I like to build and fix things (furniture, rock climbing walls, VBM coffee machines, 80 series Landcruiser) and love to rock climb (neocortex problem-solving, again)
