A former editor of Guitar Player magazine (1978-1998), Jas Obrecht has written over 150 cover stories for nationally and internationally published music magazines. His many books include "Blues Guitar: The Men Who Made the Music," "Rollin' and Tumblin': The Postwar Blues Guitarists," "My Son Jimi" (co-written with James “Al” Hendrix), "Early Blues: The First Stars of Blues Guitar" (winner of the “Blues Book of the Year” award in the 2016 Living Blues Critics Poll), "Talking Guitar: Conversations with Musicians Who Shaped Twentieth-Century American Music," and ""Stone Free: Jimi Hendrix in London." His "Let It Roll: The Essential Blues Sessions" column appears in each issue of "Living Blues" magazine.
