Welcome to Poplar Ridge Family Farm! My name is John.
In 2016, we decided to move out of town with our two boys so that they could grow up outside, raising animals, working hard, and learning to love their family. Some days it feels like we've bitten off more than we can chew, but there is always something interesting going on around here. We wouldn't trade our lives for anything now! Our videos show you what it looks like from day to day in our life. House and building projects, firewood, raising animals (including pastured / forested pigs, and maybe someday some cattle), hunting, fishing, gathering mushrooms, equipment use, equipment repairs / maintenance, and much more.
"3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. 4 They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams." Isaiah 44:3-4
