Born in Tarshiha of Upper Galilee to a Palestinian musical family, raised in Haifa, his father Hikmat was composer, Oud player & educator. Simon started playing the Oud at 4, followed immediately on the violin as well. After receiving his bachelor degree in music education and performance from Tel Aviv University, he immigrated to NYC to attend Manhattan school of music. Simon presently lives in NYC, and teaches at Berklee music school in Boston.
