My name is Crystal and I've been painting flowers in watercolour since September 2020 during the first covid lock down in Melbourne and haven't stopped since. I am also a yoga teacher, 'Steiner mum' to 2 beautiful school aged boys, and wife to a urban farmer, living in the beautiful Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia. I was born and raised in Singapore, and my ancestors were originally from China. So I guess you can call me a twice over immigrant child.
Painting has connected me deeper to myself, and to the subject I am painting. With every flower I paint, I am paying homage to its beauty, its creation, it's colours, shapes and curves.
This channel is dedicated to documenting that trance-like journey as I paint with the magical medium of watercolour, and of nature's most expressive beautiful subjects. Flowers. And sharing along with you, the techniques, tips and spaces that I flow into whilst painting.
