North Cascades Institute

Founded in 1986, North Cascades Institute is a nationally recognized education nonprofit organization that empowers people of all ages and backgrounds to explore, enjoy and learn about the mountains, rivers, forests, people and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest—so all will care for and protect this special place. Our mission is to inspire environmental stewardship through transformative learning experiences in nature. The North Cascades Environmental Learning Center, field campus of the Institute, is a hub of discovery for all ages. The Institute operates the Learning Center in partnership with the National Park Service and Seattle City Light.
